Stuck On Blue - Indie Rock with a Blues Feel
Stuck On Blue is a rock band focused on writing music that has spawned from their vast Rock 'n' Roll, Blues, Indie, and Alternative influences. On their 5 song EP you can hear everything from Motown to The Black Keys. Songs like "Out Of Love" (which gained radio play on a Harrisburg, PA rock station 92.5 FM WTPA's regional roundup) focus on the heartache of relationships, while "What Can You Do" is an irreverent look at life and no matter how much you give..."they always seem to want more; or they'll kick you out the door." Linster moves the songs forward with beats that would require cinder blocks to keep your feet off the dance floor. They also have a love for the darker side of music such as "No More Time" where Stapleton's bass conjures involuntary heads bobs and DeFoe writes about the unexpected loss of his father.
Stuck On Blue's live shows are the foundation of the band as the underground demand for real people playing real instruments continues to rise; and the pop charts continue to be saturated with sampled beats and over produced melodies.
Stuck On Blue is currently evolving from a T. Rex and Rolling Stones influenced Rock 'n' Roll band into a darker sound you might find on Black Rebel Motorcycle Club Pandora station. DeFoe's songwriting is still rich in soul, but there's an edgy attitude to the tone. Long has emerged as a songwriter whose influences are heavy in the alternative/hard rock of the early 90's; and his lead guitar work is evolving from Classic Rock Blues to a more modern sound that is technical yet unbound, emotional, and full of modern effects.
They will be heading back to the studio in 2015 to create a professional EP. The focus will be writing music that is about attitude, emotion, and mood. Look for an alternative Stuck On Blue while they will always remain true to their roots.
