Hailing from Greeneville, TN, Bootleg Turn brings an original and eclectic mix of Americana, twisted with supped up, rock and country riffs, and hard hitting, rockabilly rhythms. Deemed “hillbilly rock” by the local press, Bootleg Turn brings songs about love and heartbreak, whiskey and women’ - it reminds the listener what it's like to be from the south, served up with a good ol’ helping of Appalachian angst. The musical trio was founded in 2010 by singer/bassist, Eric Moon, and drummer, Russell Overholt. Moon and Overholt recruited guitarist, Stacey Everhart, and the band immediately started playing gigs by summer of that same year. The band has a large catalog of songs, mainly written by the band. Benny Smith, General Manager at WUTK in Knoxville stated, "Combine a respectful tip of their hats to classic country from the past with a forward lean that has an alternative edge, and you have the mighty fine music that Bootleg Turn pours their hearts into with every song."
Bootleg Turn is currently playing throughout the East Tennessee/ Western North Carolina region. The group is extremely versatile and can play a variety of venues. Most notably the band has played the South Greene Band Bizarre to raise money for the marching band for two consecutive years.
