Brian Van Tosh / Bio

When I was in grade school, I began playing the alto horn, then trumpet in the school band. By my teen years I was influenced by the Beatles and taught myself to play the guitar. I then met Charlie Dominici, and we played Beatles, Dylan, Donovan, Crosby Stills & Nash etc. We moved on, and with Gary Legon as our manager we recorded in NY City a demo album of Charlie's original songs under the name of Charisma. Eventually we broke up and I joined the Living Theatre and toured with them in the USA. Then in 1972, I came to Rochester, NY and continued playing guitar with several local bands. Then in 1995, I drove home from a skiing trip and flipped my truck, and miraculously survived with no broken bones, but heard my calling, and decided to make a change and taught myself to play keyboard. I then played with Donny Ashford's band Galileo playing around town until I met Mason Tyler and Rickey Lee Watson, and joined the Black Jack band. Then I did studio work with Mason and Jerry Falzone. Then the Black Jack band disbanded, so I decided to go solo and really learn my instrument. Since then I have been writing my own original songs in my home studio and the rest is history..............
