“A distinctive but intangible energy that seems to arise from attitudes and beliefs that impute special power or mystery to it.”
Aura's sound and universe is unique and original: It's a blend of edgy rock sound with a sensuous, soulful and dramatic ambiance and voice. The combination of raw masculine energy with feminine softness and fragility demonstrates the profound duality that inhabits Aura and that gives her drive for strong performances and powerful lyrics. As a songwriter, she gets inspired by human emotions and struggles to pursue one's paths and dreams and aims at reaching everyone with words of self empowerment.
The magic component behind Aura's Music is her creative merging with musician\producer\composer Neb. He creates all the music and atmosphere with catchy guitar melodies, fat bass lines and sound arrangements. Everything you hear on the album stems from the musical chemistry between the two allies. They both come from really different artistic backgrounds and inspiration, Neb as a heavy metal drummer and Aura with a pop, and classical background.
Aura's pure and powerful voice is unique and has a large range that she has been perfecting through classical voice training, namely Bel Canto. This Italian vocal technique eases the transition throughout the ranges in an agile and flexible way.
Aura has been pursuing her artistic career mostly in the province or Quebec, Canada, for the past 12 years. She started singing and songwriting has her main project, after working as a dancer, choreographer and dance teacher.
The talent, determination and experience of singer Aura lead her to major stages and TV shows. In 2002, she was invited to open for rapper Ja Rule at the Molson Centre. In 1999, she was part of Canadian Fan Mail Tour with Grammy Award winner TLC at the Molson Centre and Corel Center. She has choreographed Samantha Fox's last show in Montreal and toured in Dubai, Hong Kong, and all across Canada. In 2008, Aura has been promoting her music in the States, and taken part to the Winter Music Conference, in Miami, where she was introduced on stage by Cee-Lo Green. Aura has also participated to many TV shows, as a dancer, like Le poing J, Musique Plus, Much Music, The Jenny Jones Show, a Disney Special at Radio Canada and many music videos.
