Metorana is a Dance/Rock band from Kew Gardens, New York. Formed in 2012, the lineup consists of lifelong friends Ian Keller, Alex "H" Hernandez, and Sam Allen who shared a nearly identical taste and interest in music. The band is heavily influenced by 90's Alternative/Rock bands like Nirvana, Metallica, The Offspring, Weezer, and Rage Against The Machine, but also extends to Dance and modern Electronic music by the likes of Daft Punk and Deadmau5. Ian and Alex started playing music together in the year 2000, when they were in sixth grade, and the band soon found itself playing its first gig at Ian's Sunday school graduation in June 2001. The duo realized they needed a bass player and recruited Sam Allen. During this time, the band went by The Rejects but in 2012, changed its name to separate themselves from hundreds of other bands. Metorana is in fact the result of a joke-concept band that Ian and his best friend thought of in the sixth grade that was designed to include letters from every band they were influenced by at the time.
