The intaerim ( pronounced In-tear-um) was formed in 2011 by singer songwriters Jason Guttridge (Vocals, drums), and Mitch Dauphin (Vocals, Guitar); however these longstanding friends have been hammering the skins and strings since early high school in various bands. Throughout that time the pair has discovered a passion for composing Hard Rock Alternative songs with punchy riffs, solid beats, and... catchy melodies. Chris Genttner (Bass) was brought on board late 2011 which “grounded our work, and brought a new flavor to the mix” quotes Mitch, “we really needed someone to come in and do that”. It was during this time the band entered a transitional phase when drummer Jason decided to put the sticks down and concentrate heavily on songwriting for the band.
“I had always loved the arrangement of music and where a song should go next; however I was very limited behind my throne [Drums] with my input, so I picked up an acoustic one day and started writing” Jason adds “and boy was it worth it”. This intermediary time also brought the name of the band when the three members thought they should have a formal name for the band, or at least a working title to use in the interim until something stuck with the members. The band members decided to call themselves the Intaerim until all members could agree. In discussions of band names, Chris and Mitch asked each other “are we working towards something, because if we are, we had better do something pretty amazing in the Intaerim?” The band decided to keep the name with the rearrangement.
In April 2012, Intaerims sound was further expanded when Ben Goldhawk (Lead Guitar) was officially added to the Intaerim Line up. "I love their music so much and cannot wait to collaborate with such a talented group of musicians" quotes Ben. "We didn't even have to tell him what we were doing, he just picked up a guitar while we were playing and he caught on like he wrote the songs himself, he's incredibly talented and compliments the music perfectly" Chris explains.
The band is currently working in the studio on a demo which they hope to release in mid 2012 showcasing their most notable work. Jason states “This is something that all three of us are really excited about…..we have put a lot of passion and hard work into our writing which will speak volumes on a recording”.
