Verdigris / Bio

An iconoclastic mix of rock and punk. That was Nirvana. Verdigris is something else entirely. From the something-less-than-dulcet tones of lead-man Al Wildmann, to the driving rhythm guitar of Bob "the Killing Carpenter", Verdigris is everything rock should be: two guitars, a bass, a set of drums, and a whole lot of passion.

Pre-History of Verdigris...
The original members of Verdigris weren't gathered together for the first time when Verdigris was spawned. Each of them had played with at least one other person before. Al got his very first guitar from Bob. There's an entire story in that, but I'll save that for some other section. Al organized Pooky and Justin by helping them create, and then staying on with, the band Mecachis. Justin played in the pre-gig version of Cheaper Than Therapy with Bob. Al and Pooky played in the never-gigging Blue Water. Then, one day, all of them were drawn together by some unseen spectral event...

November, 2001
It was a cold, damp (but otherwise dry), dark, slightly breezy night in the north end of the U District of Seattle. The setting was The Dutchess and the actors are about to find themselves part of something greater than them all... Verdigris. A pitcher of beer or two later, and the deal was made. The Devil walked away smiling. "Aw son, and for that you sold your eternal soul?" "Well, sir, I wasn't usin' it."
