Paul Spencer Alexander started writing songs at the age of 5 and, as an adult, carries a musical hybrid of sounds ranging from a modern take on 1980’s euphoria and heartache, reminiscent of everything from Depeche Mode and Enigma on Paul’s electronic side, to trippy and tranquil acoustic rock ballads, in the way one might describe Pink Floyd’s “A Pillow of Winds.” For an Artist who reaches for and savors “those rare moments of stillness in life,” there seems to never be a still moment for Paul’s hunger to write and perform his songs with one musical sensibility, only to experiment and reintroduce them with that of another. Paul carries with him a classic rock restlessness, with an energy and a sound that only the 1980’s (and a welcome trace of the 1960’s) could invent. As a traveling songwriter and Showman, Paul dares to bridge the gap between old-school garage pop, acoustic rock, folk, and "orchestral" electronic music, while so many other Artists remain tight-fisted in one style. In short, one might say that Paul Alexander is a songwriter and performer who is not to be sold short in his musical abilities.
