Airsickness / Bio
The group first met at Lincoln Middle School in Palmetto, Florida in Owens (vocals/guitar) 8th grade year of school. Owen, Nick and Casey came up with the name Airsickness to symbolize that music is always changing and through all the change, there is still great music out there that is timeless. That is what Airsickness strives to be by bringing various types of music together and into a truly unique form.
The band combines the sibling power of brothers, Owen (vocals/guitar) and Casey Jago (backing vocals/bass) with the sheer talent and musical ability of guitarist Allen Litchfield, and drummer Nick Masengale. Their sound brings together all types of rock into a melodic harmony combining radio rock anthems with pop/punk melodies.
Casey ventured out to contact Framing Hanely guitarist, Brandon Wootten, to produce the bands first release. Brandon teamed up with owner and engineer of Drone Records, Corey Callis, to engineer the project. “Camp Calliwoot” (Wootten and Callis) agreed to record their first digital single, Homeville. “We were all very excited about getting to go up to Nashville, TN to work with Brandon and Corey on our first project we had ever done” remembers Nick. Owen added, “I had a very good idea of what “Homeville” was going to sound like going into the studio and never expected the changes that we would make to the song under the direction of “Camp Calliwoot”.
A new side of the band came out wile working in the studio, The Recording Farm, which sparked a new passion and inspiration for the bands first album release, “In All Seriousness”. “Getting to hang out and grill out at the river almost every night and get away from the studio was definitely rejuvenating and inspiring” said Casey in response to ‘how was the mindset and comforatbility of the session.
“In All Seriousness” was released in December of 2012.
In spring of 2013 Airsickness set out to write a full length album.
Even though the average age of the quartet is not even 21, they have already shared the stage with bands such as, Puddle of Mudd, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, In This Moment, Emphatic, We Came As Romans, Saliva, 12 Stones, Framing Hanley, and Scars on 45, just to name a few, and have played on the main stage at the Rockapalooza festival in Jackson, MI.
