Greg Wolfe began his music career after graduating from The Guitar Institute in Los Angeles and returning to his hometown, New York City. Initially playing lead guitar and writing songs for several bands, including Channel, and doing session work, Greg desired to expand his musical knowledge and further develop his style. He attended Mannes in NYC, earning a Master’s Degree in Jazz Theory and Harmony.
Greg eventually landed a gig for a Charmin commercial, which brought him to Germany. It was there Greg discovered his voice, albeit a bit raspier than one would like to associate with T.P.
With Greg’s newfound inspiration and creative outlet, Greg formed the band, Voice of the Population, in 2008 and promptly went into the studio. With their debut cd release, fans couldn’t get enough of Greg and fan favorites like “So High”, the love song with a hard edge- “I’ll Wait”, and the ultimate feel good track- “Sunshine”.
After a few years of rockin’ clubs throughout the tri-state area, the band members seemed to be growing in different directions and quickly drifted apart. Greg found this as an opportunity to continue on his artistic path and formed his current namesake band.
The group, Greg Wolfe, includes bassist Kenji, drummer Kio (both from Japan), and ableton live.
