Analog was born as husband and wife team Alison and Christopher Cuff. Their first CD, simply titled Analog, is a collection of moody pop songs laced with lush vocal harmonies and inter-twining guitar and keyboard rhythms. The album was recorded with session musician Antonio Sanchez on drums and Alison and Christopher playing all other instruments. Psychic Tea, the duo’s second CD, focused on a more acoustic sound featuring the beautifully touching Need You Here as Analog’s sonic creativity matured; there was a return of the need for percussive expression within the music. Subsequently, their third CD, the eleven songs Strangely Familiar, reflected this need. Having been recorded with a full complement of drums and percussion, Strangely Familiar showcased the intelligent writing needed as a basis for music to stand out in a crowd along with a strong rhythm structure and deliciously harder edge. More recently, Analog has expanded upon this musical thought process with the forth-coming CD Unfamiliar Territory adding newly added musician, Mark, Mr. Boston, Podgurski on drums and vocals, which includes an extended version of Mice and Men along with three previously unreleased songs. Also our newest member,Lohn States on Bass, completes the new Analog. Drawing from creative and progressive experience and a wide range of influences, Analog produces music that is contemporary, meaningful and original.
