Captivating crowds with a live energy second to none, Montville, CT’s Llama Tsunami has been playing since 2008, last year winning the Shure Give It Voice battle of the bands at the Paradise Rock Club in Boston and the national round, earning them a slot at the RedGorilla Music Festival in Austin during SXSW. They have been booked with bands such as Reel Big Fish, Streetlight Manifesto, The Toasters, The English Beat, and many other great acts. To date they have release a full-length album and two EPs, played shows throughout the northeast and surrounding areas, and are currently in preproduction for their second full-length release.
Like most ska bands, they believe that their music and live shows are all about just having a good time. Their style originates from the usual suspects of the genre yet their diverse individual tastes give each arrangement something new to offer. The message is simple: Get over yourself and dance… seriously.
“We play ska. Some people don’t like us because apparently ska isn’t fun anymore. We beg to differ.”
