Born and raised in the South of France, Jazzya Louis was always fascinated by the different cultures of the world. Her quest for music and spiritual developpment has taking her to many different countries and what began as a curiosity has developp into a lifetime journey !
A tremendous connection with the african-american music and spirituality inspired her to pursue a trip to New York and decided to live in Harlem for a couple of month… Wandering through the streets of Harlem made her feel like she was home and she found herself gravitating towards Church and jazz clubs. It was love at first sight !
Shortly after her first visit, she was working on her way back, determined to dig deeper to the roots of spirituality and music… She ventured down in the delta, and the trip began Sankofa when she reached New Orleans ! She connected with the natives through helping rebuilding houses flooded by the levees. Obviously, she embraced the spiritual and musical heritage of the city among the artists community.
The intensity of those experiences has changed her life forever, as she like to say : “Harlem has put a smile on my heart and Nola made my soul sing !”
Currently she’s residing in Harlem, where she’s an active member and singer of the First Corinthian Baptist Church. She’s also developping her album, between New York and New Orleans.
Jazzya Louis is a living proof that dreams come true and her music is a testimony ! Through her emotional voice, she reminds us that our dreams are spiritualy connected with who we really are and the life we are destined to live. Life is a gift made to everyone, and everyone has the power to dream and fulfill their dreams !
