The seeds of Embodied Torment were sown in years past, but the nascent form took shape over the course of 2011, as Matt (vox) and Cynthia Chaco (drums) joined forces with Casey Ryle (guitars), Joaquin Chavez (guitars), and David Ko (bass). First called Sever Dismember, the quintet began by playing a diverse and eclectic form of death metal with both old and new school sensibilities. The band rec...orded a demo in December of 2011, chronicling this initial phase of development. At roughly the same time, they made their stage debut and began work on the second generation of their material, distilling their sound into a more focused and violent blend of brutal death metal styles. Choosing then to shift to the Embodied Torment moniker in February of 2012, they prepared to conquer the stage with a dedicated campaign of performance warfare.
The band signed to New Standard Elite in June of 2014.
