Frankie Moody is a talented guitarist/vocalist from Louisville, KY. Frankie’s musical style can be best described as “country mixed with rock and roll.” Frankie’s biggest childhood hero was country star, Garth Brooks. He recalls that he would spend hours watching Garth's concert videos and would try to imitate everything that Garth did on stage. Inspired by these concert videos, Frankie picked up the guitar at age six. Country music became his favorite genre and he was heavily influenced by artists such as Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw and, of course, Garth Brooks. By age ten, he was able to play his favorite country songs, some of which he still plays live today.
When Frankie was a teenager Rock music replaced Country as his favorite genre. He bought an electric guitar and was soon playing music from bands such as AC/DC, Aerosmith, Motley Crue and Matchbox Twenty. He joined his first band when he was fifteen as guitarist and co-vocalist. This band played all covers and had shows at places such as 4th Street Live and Phoenix Hill Tavern. Frankie continued to play in different bands throughout high school and gained valuable experience playing in front of crowds.
After high school, Frankie finally got a chance to see his childhood hero Garth Brooks perform at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TN. He recalls that this was the moment he knew that he wanted to sing country music for a living. "That night changed my life. I had honestly kind of abandoned country music because I was playing in a rock band all through high school. But when I saw Garth play that night, I knew what I wanted to be. And that was a country singer."
In the summer of 2012 Frankie began his solo career getting his first gig at Hooters. He played every week on the patio there and began getting a following. Many other bars around Louisville have begun hiring him regularly in 2013 and Frankie's music has recently even gotten him gigs in Dallas, TX. Frankie has been writing a lot of his own music and is set to release songs in 2014.
