Billy F Dee writes the greatest country songs you never heard.
As one of the world's most accomplished bass players and a protege of Jaco Pastorius, Billy F Dee has played with a virtual who's who of country music: Bill Monroe, Jerry Lee Lewis, Mickey Gilley, Johnny Lee, Wendel Adkins, Johnny Paycheck, Charley Pride, Glen Campbell, Duane Eddy, Vince Gill, Vern Gosdin, Freddy Fender, Moe Bandy, Greg Allman, David Allan Coe, Johnny Rodriguez, John Anderson, Billy Joe Shaver, Johnny Bush, James Burton, Tommy Allsup (Bob Wills/Buddy Holly), Asleep At The Wheel, Patsy Montana, George Hamilton IV, David Frizzell, Redd Volkaert, Bill Kirchen, Cindy Cashdollar, Dale Watson and Jesse Dayton, and the Derailers, to name but a few.
Dee was also the bandleader of the Gilley's house band for over a decade in Pasadena, Texas during the huge "Urban Cowboy" movement.
June 23, 2005 was proclaimed Billy Dee Day in Austin, Texas by Mayor Will Wynn.
There is no substitute for the real thing. Billy F Dee's songs speak volumes.
