Samora is a singer / songwriter from Chicago Illinois. She has been writing since the age of 13 and originally performed professionally as Ruby Redd. She opened up for a variety of hip-hop and urban acts and has performed in local shows as well as arenas. Due to disagreement with the direction of management and her production team, Samora decided to focus on being a wife, teacher, and mother. However, Samora never stopped writing, and has hundreds of songs, poems, and stories collected, in what she calls “The Ruby Redd Files”.
Samora decided to re-enter the music industry after she suffered a near death experience 2 years ago. She wanted to test her music to see if there was still a market for her unique sound. Samora placed several self-produced tracks on reverbnation.com/samorasweet and has since sold several thousand copies, without any promotion!
Life is Sweet! She feels that now is the time to release her art into the world. Samora hopes to inspire others to follow their dreams because life is too short and you never know when it's your time to go. Samora is working on her debut album entitled, “77 Klasick”, which is a mix of original and cover songs that inspired her to fall in love with music. These songs are an urban take on pop, funk, disco, and hip-hop. She will release the album the spring of 2014 and tour during the spring and summer to promote the album.
