From 1996-2001, keyboardist Joe Pagano was in a band called Juno Scenario, and from 1997-2003 he was in a band called Proteus. The musical style of both bands were a throwback to the sound of 80's industrial and darkwave. Joe was the keyboardist and songwriter for Juno Scenario, as well as the keyboardist and co-songwriter for Proteus. He also had an internet collaboration called Insomnia Orchestra, for songs he had created that weren't used in the other 2 bands. Eventually Juno Scenario and Proteus both broke up, and Insomnia Orchestra lost its steam and fizzled out. After all of this, Joe was briefly the live keyboardist for the harsh industrial band Gewalt Kubikzahl, followed by him creating a solo industrial band called Infinity Sequence... in this project he created all of the music, and sang with a vocoder to disguise his horrible voice. With Gewalt Kubizahl coming to an end, and working alone not being very satisfying in Infinity Sequence, he became the keyboardist for a punk/metal band called Voting With Bullets. He spent 6 years in Voting With Bullets, but eventually left the band when the singer announced her departure. Then about a year after this, Joe had an idea: To create a new band using the songs he had written in his first few bands, songs that were near and dear to his heart, and songs that should have never been abandoned. And to pull this off, Joe enlisted the singing talents of the girlfriend of Voting With Bullets' drummer, Lizzy Obscura. She had the voice of an angel and the perfect look to front this band... plus she liked the songs, which always helps! Eventually the original guitarist of Voting With Bullets, Casper Tussey, also joined the lineup. Hell, even the drummer of Voting With Bullets was a member for the first year (some of his lyrics and drum writing can be heard on a few songs). So this is Sins Of The Siren... consisting of material written years ago, but revamped with a more modern sound. Featuring the siren wails of Lizzy Obscura, the driving guitars of Casper Tussey, and the industrial/darkwave songs of keyboardist Joe Pagano. Now in 2014, they're working on their debut CD... which will feature 13 songs over 15 years in the making. And once all of Joe's older material has either been added to the fold, or passed up, Sins Of The Siren will begin writing new material. But for now, this older material is what defines their sound. So if you've ever been a fan of Siouxsie and the Banshees, Switchblade Symphony, Birthday Massacre, or Bella Lune, be sure to check out this band!
