Jules Phoenix and Remi F are a duo from South London, U.K.
Jules Phoenix is the flame haired singer-songwriter who has been playing the guitar and writing songs for many years before first performing as a solo artist in Early 2010.
A few months later, Remi accompanied Jules sound on her Afro-Latin hand percussion "Kit" and backing vocals. Remi started playing percussion in a traditional marching band aged 7 until adulthood.
Their style is eclectic and raw combining a fusion of genres and influences: Rock, Ska, reggae, Latin and blues.
They have been described as "The British Female Santana" "The Reggae Anna Calvi" Vocals reminiscent and Chrissie Hynde showmanship influenced by Hendrix. These comparisons only go to highlight that although they hugely inspired by great music, they are carving out a fusion sound that is uniquely them.
“The London Road” is their aptly named 2012 debut demo E.P: Jules was born on London Road, Croydon an area affected greatly by the 2011 London riots.
A year later of course, all roads led to London in 2012 for different reasons and these ladies epitomise that spirit.
