Anne's music instruction philosophy is based on teaching 5 important things that singers or instrumentalists must practice, including articulation, breathing/phrasing, rhythm, tone and a personal connection to the music. She is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing. Students of Anne audition, perform and have fun playing piano and singing better at school, at home and at gigs. Singers improve the health and longevity of their voices.
Anne has performed regularly both solo and with her jazz band in the Metro NYC area and at venues and festivals in cities throughout the U.S. Her shows include a mix of standards, jazzy adult-contemporary favorites and her original, crowd-pleasing and critically acclaimed songs that are rooted in rock, blues, R&B and country. Her toe-tappin’ and touching songs reach back and forge ahead. She will melt your heart and satisfy your appetite for great new music.
Anne's tasty album, Cookin’ in the Kitchen is a well-seasoned collection of her original music, including the sizzling title track, plus the standard “Laura” by Johnny Mercer. Anne received grants from the Musician’s Foundation and annual ASCAPlus awards. She was selected as a finalist with the UniSong International songwriting competition, which dubbed Cookin’ in the Kitchen “…a juggernaut of a song!”. Her music has been played on over 100 jazz radio stations nationwide.
