Fusion-Rock Trio Johnny Wailin' consists of Drummer - David Bundy, Bass Player - Josh Jablow, and Guitar Player and Vocalist Bradley Dean. Before we can talk about Johnny Wailin 2012, we must first pay tribute to our roots as a band. Like so many of the Earth's mysterious creatures do, this rock monster emerged from the boiling cauldrons of Yellowstone National Park. In 2003, Brothers Brad and Brent ventured from YNP to beautiful Driggs, Idaho. It was there that they seeked out the perfect beat and backbone to elevate this creature from a ripping rock duo, into a three-headed, fire-breathing monster. That third head emerged in the form of already accomplished drummer, David Bundy. Living close to the Teton Mountain Range offered endless inspiration and fuel for the burn. Combine this inspiration with good people and great music and you have got a prime location for creation. For the next three years, Johnny Wailin' toured through Utah, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming. During that time, Johnny Wailin developed a memorable stage presence and a dynamic sound, which some music lovers refer to as a mix of Primus and Pink Floyd. In the summer of 2005, Johnny Wailin' opened The First Annual Targhee Fest at Grand Targhee Ski Resort. This was big step for this emerging band. Bands like Blues Traveler, Government Mule, Code Talkers, and PBS also played this music festival. Unfortunately, it was shortly thereafter that Brent (bass) parted ways with the band and left the door wide open for a new kind of beast, a new breath of fire, a new beginning...............
Band members David and Brad were determined to move forward, but finding a suitable replacement would prove to be a difficult task. Drummer David Bundy and Guitarist Bradley Dean had decided to take a break until something, or rather someone caught their attention. In the winter of 2010 Guitarist Bradley Dean met up with sound tech and musician Christopher Champlin, and bassist Josh Jablow for an improvisational musical session. Together, Chris, Josh, and Brad developed new songs and re-hashed old ones. Chris became the bridge between the old Johnny and new Johnny. Chris's dedication to his loving family held him close to home, but the monster was ready to be unleashed once again. It was then that Brad called up the original Johnny Wailin' drummer David Bundy, and told him that he had found a bass player with style and determination who could get the job done. Since then, the band has been rediscovering the old Johnny and crushing the new Wailin'. Looking for a face metling rock 'n' roll sandwich with a hint of holy smokes? Give Johnny Wailin' a buzz and they will deliver.
