Born Guy Mark Phillips on April 28th 1968, From early on this high octaned spirit was curtain swingin' & carpet crawlin'.
At 8 yrs old he got his first guitar but lost it - compliments of an older brother playin rockstar - who smashed it into a tree.
To exact his revenge, Mark decided to exploit his natural instrument - his voice - the one & only thing that no one could ever take away or destroy.
At 15 he wrote his first song ... while bouncin' into his early 20's had two of his lyrical poems published in The American Anthology book of poets & and songwriters.
At 28 he turned down a Artist development deal outta Nashville - for what he then believed was love ....
What in the hell was he thinkin' ?
Zippin' through his 30's he honed his skills and craft - singin' anywhere he could - just to keep the rust off the ol pipes.
5 of Mark's Original tunes have enjoyed soft rotation air time, on Milwaukee's WMIL Fm 106's (Home made jams) in large market media exposure.
Crusin' into his 40's he's workin' on his 1st full legnth album - 13 Originals he's written - touchin' on the real issues we all face - on this roller coaster ride called life.
With a passionate desire to leave his footprint on the music world Mark sought out some of the very best in the Biz.
Cultivating stellar friendships with his Producer/Arranger Joe Puerta of Ambrosia - Patrick Bolen of Pure Prairie Legue - and Tommy Greywolf who's toured with Brooks & Dunn, and many stand in's with Charlie Daniels.
Mark decided to build his band "Country Mark and Memory Lane" to the same standards - by seekin' out the best he could find in his region.
So that when ya listen to em play - ya find yourself on a musical journey - that takes ya back to all those good times again.
