Daylight Burning consists of a group of friends with a passion for hard rock and metal. While Daylight Burning is a new band, the members have played countless shows in venues up and down the east coast in previous bands sharing the stage with the likes of Three Days Grace, Shinedown, Nonpoint, Drowning Pool and countless other major touring acts. "This has lead to a more refined approach with the song writing process and the live show" states guitarist Peyton Dowdy. "We are a bit older and more experienced as musicians now and we feel like it shows in the new music."
The band mixes aggressive riffs and a pounding rhythm section with strong melodies and vocal harmonies. "This is the first band I have been in that we spend a lot of time working on the little details that put songs over the top. It makes the writing process that much more exciting." says vocalist Rick Johnson. The lyrical content is meaningful to the band but Johnson believes it is important to allow the listener to interpret their own meanings. "The song Swear is about losing someone close to you and keeping their memory alive after they are gone." says Johnson, "However I can see where it could have a different meaning to other people. That is what is great about music. People can take what they want from it and use it to relate to their own lives."
Armed with a dynamic sound and an exciting stage presence Daylight Burning is taking aim at the Richmond, Virginia scene. The band is currently putting the touches on it's first full length album which is scheduled for release Spring of 2014.
