False Fate originally formed from 2 cousins in Tuscaloosa, AL. , Lawson and Blayne Watkins in early 2009. Lawson was 15 and Blayne was 12 at the time. Lawson was on vocals/guitar and Blayne was on drums. They performed at a local talent show and received 1st place. Josh Hawkins and Lawson had been friends since junior high and Josh was soon invited in as the bassist.

Since, they have performed at many events including the West Alabama State Fair as the headlining act for 2 years. They also performed at Birmingham's High Note Lounge in a talent show case featuring Fuse TV's mistress Julia Chernetsky.

In late 2011, Kevin Bronner was introduced to the band through friends of friends and was invited in as the lead guitar player. Soon after his addition, local drummer Jordan Wilkinson was also introduced to False Fate through Kevin. After filling in for a gig, Jordan was invited in as False Fate's drummer.

For personal reasons, Jordan departed from False Fate in late 2012. Soon after, Kyle Morrison, a long-time friend of both Lawson and Josh, was invited in as False Fate's drummer.
