FESTE is a 70's-inspired blues/rock band from Anaheim, CA whose dark, gritty and aggressive sound is influenced by the works of artists such as Led Zeppelin, Foo Fighters, The Black Keys and William Shakespeare. Behind FESTE and their music are lead vocalist Tony Torrico, guitarist Charlie Magdaleno, drummer Carlos Macias, keyboardist Mark McCombs and bassist Chris Standifer.
In their very first performances, FESTE won the Ernie Ball/Skinnie Magazine Battle for Warped Tour, which culminated with their tournament-winning performance at the House of Blues Anaheim. As a result of the win, FESTE performed at the 2013 Vans Warped Tour in Pomona, CA.
They also raised over $5,700 on Kickstarter in order to fund the completion of their debut album, First Folio, which was released on August 20th, 2013. First Folio is a 13-song LP featuring 11 original songs and 2 songs from Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night – “Come Away, Death” and “The Wind and the Rain” – that combine the Bard’s words with FESTE’s original melodies and music. Regarding the record, UK music blog Sonic Abuse says, “The Shakespearian references are incorporated with wit and style and it is clear that the band’s name is well chosen…’First Folio’ is a treasure that deserves your undivided attention.”
Since the release of their debut album, FESTE has begun making their mark in-person and online. The band held their First Annual Masquerade show – a small-capacity, semi-formal event – at the House of Blues Sunset on October 18th, 2013 in Hollywood, CA; and kicked off 2014 with their First Annual New Year, New Music show at the Slidebar in Fullerton, CA on January 18th, 2014 – both performances debuting brand-new music from the band. FESTE was also named a Reverbnation Featured Artist in September 2013 and had their song, "Sweating Bullets," featured on the popular zombie podcast, We’re Alive, which is now a member of the Nerdist Podcast Network. This February, FESTE and “First Folio” will be featured in Fireworks Magazine – a UK rock music publication.
