A jurassic storm coming your way !
Female fronted Swiss alternative rock band Manitu «...has this spark that makes the difference and distinguishes them from others». JP Musique Chroniques
Edgy, earthy and punchy, their 2d album «Rumble B» boldly mixes heavy distorted guitars with ringing riffs/buzz-saw temper; pounding grooves with hardcore drumming and unrelenting bass style.
Leaping from delirious to mind-blowing atmospheres, the song themes range from slamming political mind games and manipulation, to downright condemnation of the sacrifice of human life on the altar of economic gain, but also to humorously highlighting the dizzying labyrinth of human relationships, eventually reminding us that change is in our own hands.
With their previous and debut album «Clear & Simple», Manitu have erupted across Switzerland's well-known stages, such as Caprices Open- air, Festineuch, Rock'air festival and rock clubs in both French and German speaking parts of the country, as well as music TV shows like Musicomax. The song «Take me back» has been on the playlists of several radio stations in Switzerland.
«Such a great singer blessed with that much charisma is rare and allows to predict a bright future for the band !» one reviewer wrote about MannaLia.
Addicted to the thrill of being on stage since age 14, the VIT graduate, song writer/singer spent 7 years playing in rock bands in the greater Los Angeles area and touring the United States. Back to Europe to write her own material, she co-founded Manitu with David Grillon, a guitarist, songwriter and well known producer/sound engineer in the Swiss music business (Grigrisound). They completed the line-up with Lionel Ebi on bass, and the recent addition of new drummer Fabio Duro from Portugal, allowed the band to reach perfect symbiosis, and to already start writing the songs to the next album to be released by the end of 2013.
