I missed the 80's because I was a member of an extremist Buddhist cult,
so all the music you stumble on from me is the result of being stuck in a time warp.
You could say I'm a rock riff ripping retro relic
but I'm also an ardent ambient ambler.
Everything has to be labelled these days and I'm sure that's helpful for databases
but I come from a time where bands used to include many genres in their music.
I define my own creations as Grim Funk
but the main element is Metal,
mainly because a power chord
played through an overdriven amp head and stack
is unlike anything else for sheer visceral energy.
You have to at least learn how to hold the instrument
(not like an indie wimp FFS)
obviously you have to set up your amp and speaker cabs
and shout at the drummer to shut up for a second,
then as you start feeling the power,
there's the ridiculous facial expressions as your eardrums split open.
I loves metal me - I do.
What's that you say?
What the fuck is going on today?
20,000 people paying £50 to see someone finger their laptop???
Mouse nudgers turning A knob getting £100,000 for a gig?
What the fuckety fuck?
And it's someone else's tune they've lifted!
People only want the sound these days,
they're not interested in musical history, heritage or hautenthicity.
They're happy with a knob turner behind a laptop,
a fake band and drummer (if your lucky)
and a photogenic lip syncing vocal-hysteriaist shouting "Make Some Noise".
Yes I am from another age,
I walked with the dinosaurs.
My karma ran over my dogma
