Lisa Novak started out in 1995 leading the band Big Holiday. Immediately they went on to receive accolades for music songwriting contests and band contests. They got into the sought after SXSW music festival during their first year together. Lisa recorded 2 records with Big Holiday.
Lisa went on to record several Cd;s under her own name with rotating members. She collaborated with Melinda Mones and won Best Folk Acoustic w. her in the 2004 Houston Press Music Awards. She recorded "Perfect Mess", "Tougher Skin" and "Too Shallow to Swim" and received the award for Best Female Vocalist during 2005 and 2006 in the Houston Press Music Awards.
Most recently she has written and recorded several albums with Rich Hopkins and the Luminarios form Tucson, AZ and toured Germany yearly with him from 2008 until now.
Her most recent work, a 7 song EP, "Can't Let Go" will be out in February 2012. She is currently playing in the Luminarios with Rich and recently reconnected with her former guitarist, Larry Cooper and the three of them are forming an Alt Country/rock project called "My Way or the Highway". Lisa is currently writing, recording and touring with her husband Rich Hopkins in his band Rich Hopkins and the Luminarios.
