The birth of A Thousand Ashes took place in the early hours of 2010, just as the first decade of the 21st century wrapped up in all of it’s blood-soaked glory. In the desolate wasteland of the northern Chicago suburbs, five like-minded individuals came together with one simple idea in mind: To make Metal as volatile and rebellious as it was in the glory days. The culmination of these ideas would soon appear on the band’s self-financed debut EP, Simply titled, “Indwelling.” The tracks on “Indwelling,” such as the power driven opener “Of Pain and Virtue” proved that the band meant business, and were prepared to take no prisoners. What originally started out as a return to Metal’s core, soon became a movement in itself. A movement based on integrity, strength, and tearing down everything that stands in one’s path. So what are you waiting for? Join the militia.
