Somewhere between the classic rock frills of Eric Clapton, the pop sensibilities of The Beatles, and the bare beauty of Elliott Smith, there is Tony Italiano. Combining somewhat technical, often bluesy, and always creative guitar playing with McCartney-esque pop writing and vocals, Tony creates his very own hybrid of rock music. Born in Metairie, a suburb of New Orleans, Tony picked up a guitar at the age of 11. He quickly became interested in quite a bit of British Pop Rock, i.e. Beatles, Byrds, Who, ect. Tony then acquired the skills of piano, bass, and percussion in following years. He has fronted several local indie rock outfits such as Avron, Heirloom,Sleep Through Days (RIP Cody Patrick Martin), and most recently, The Lobbyist, as well as playing guitar and bass in Ron Hotstream and the F Holes, a classic country band based in New Orleans. After The Lobbyist called it quits, Tony was left with the choice of prowling for the next group to convey his message, or withdraw and go solo. It was time to take things into his own hands, and so his new leaf was turned, birthing his solo career. Tony Italiano has played at venues such as The Circle Bar and Carrollton Station in uptown New Orleans, as well as The Howlin' Wolf, The Republic, and The Balcony in Houma, Louisiana. He currently resides in New Orleans, Louisiana and has a project involving his solo material named Crescent Guns.
