Allen Higgins is a songwriter/guitarist from Brunswick and has been playing guitar & writing songs steadily for about 15 years. His music is being played globally and one of his songs, "Your Name On It" won a Nashville songwriting contest 2 years ago. Allen has worked with several different demo singers as well as recording & singing his own material. He did the vocal on his song Sundown. We'll be hearing a lot more of him as he's decided to take a shot at doing his own material. Allen has many song ideas and his guitar is always rocking.
Allen Higgins was born in February of 1969, in the middle of 2 decades of great music. He was sort of a “late bloomer” not picking up the guitar until 1986. “I’ve always had to play catch up” says Allen,”maybe that’s part of what drives me.” Always a lover of good songs, Allen doesn’t like to waste time on lame ideas. “If it doesn’t sound like a strong idea out of the gate, I usually junk it out and move on” he says. Whether his own material, his band Becoming August or any other project Allen always tries to live up to the best writers and players of all time. Says Allen, “you’ve always got to give it your best. Especially being a nobody from nowhere, otherwise why bother?”
