THE BLUENOTECATS TODAY 2014:
Seven years ago Dalton Piercey and Greg Gallup met at an open call audition for the Bluenotecats and formed the beginning of the Rockabilly Trio. Soon Djordje Stijepovic the Master Slap Bassist showed up on the scene in 2004 and the trio played for three years with Djordje. The time soon arrived when the “Hot Kat” from Serbia would make his talent known and opportunities to tour with other musicians would be offered. However Djordje recorded two albums worth of music with Dalton and Greg before he could no longer ignore the demand for his talent. The drummer and guitarist continued on with the Bluenotecats performing with various sub-bassists and concentrating on the production of the recordings. Unfortunately in 2008 Dalton had to put the Bluenotecats on hiatus as he was diagnosed with a life threatening illness. For the next four years Dalton focused on getting his health back. Though, Dalton and Greg continued to keep working on the recordings. Djordje was called to record Bass for some additional tracks in 2010. The bandmate was down for the visit. In the meantime Greg got an offer to perform with a Honky Tonk band, so Greg made a move to Chico, California. But, Dalton and Greg kept working on the recordings. Now in 2012 with Lead Vocals complete and Dalton’s health successfully returning, Greg will begin production on the Backing Vocals for the recording project. In the schedule too is final mixing with mastering to be performed. Some time soon the Bluenotecats will have original music out to offer to the Rockabilly Genre’. As well, Greg and Dalton plan to begin performing again. And it is always possible that bandmate Djordje will join them when available. Since it's inception the Bluenotecats have done 500 shows. From small clubs and pubs to outdoor venue's with every music venue in between. These Kats can Slap, Jive and Swing all the sounds and styles of Rockabilly music for their diverse audiences that at times are Standing Room Only.
UPDATE: Dalton has now started to perform music again. Greg has returned and moved back to Santa Rosa near Napa and the two bandmates are starting to organize to perform music again. Djordje is in Southern California working with a good group of music bandmates but is ever ready to play with Greg and Dalton again when time allows. So stay posted be our fan and keep up with the news of our Pledge Drive and the release of our music.
