Demetrice Everett ~ “MeatDaDrummer”
Demetrice Everett is mostly known by the nickname “Meat” and slogan “MeatDaDrummer”. He is a very versatile drummer, musician, drum artist and multi-talented individual who can play, compose/arrange, write several styles of music.
Demetrice influences are great and dynamic drummers such as Jeremy Haynes(my mentor), Buddy Rich, Denise Chambers, Vinnie Colaiuta, JoJo Mayer, Aaron Spears, Tony Roster Jr., Spanky, Dave Weckl, Marvin McQuitty, Jermy Hanes, Calvin Rodgers, Calvin “Coon” Napper, Chris Coleman, Chris Dave, George “Spanky” McCurdy, Eric Moore, Ronald Bruner Jr., Kentric Morris and several others.
Demetrice Everett is from the small town of Aulander, NC. His passion for drums started at the age of 2 and began playing the drums at the age of 4. Demetrice became very good and learn how to play the drums so fast that he beat his father out of a job at his church. Demetrice, at the age of 7 took over his father position playing the drums at his church, Greater Harvest Fellowship C.O.G.I.C; pastor Bishop Leroy J. Woolard. By the age 13, he was well known around the eastern part of North Carolina as a well gifted and talented young drummer. By the age, 15, Demetrice was greatly aware of his talent and ability to create on the drum set while performing. By this time, Demetrice was playing in concerts, performing in talent shows and events all over the eastern part of North Carolina.
Demetrice has performed in front of thousands of people. He has traveled all over the country drumming for many artists from gospel, jazz, neo-soul, pop such as American Idol Finalist Pop Artist Anoop Desai, R&B artist Gary “Lil G” Jenkins from group Silk, gospel recording artists by the names of Marcus Cole, Lucinda Moore, Timonty Wright, Norman Hutchins, Lee Williams, Deitrick Haddon, Lashaun Pace, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Bevely Crawford, Shirley Caesar, Le’Andrea Johnson, Jessica Reedy, Latice Crawford, Aaron Mason, Noreen Vail, etc….. He has shared the stage with Tye Tribbett, Ziel as well as other artists and musicians. Demetrice also has played for jazz pianoist Marcus Johnson, saxophonist Bunny Clyde, Marcus Anderson and Bernard Johnson.
Demetrice has also played a great part in the community and he’s a inspiration to drummers, musicians and youth all over the world. Demetrice has done drum clinics for several communities to instruct as well as show hands on to young and old drummers, musicians what it takes to become a successful drummer in the music industry; as well as providing drummers with the wisdom, knowledge, techniques, and skills of becoming a versatile drummer. Demetrice was featured in the Black Nobility Magazine and he also was a great blessing to the community by performing a drum solo live at The 33rd Annual Cystic Fibrosis event hosted by WCTI-12 newcast. Demetrice as well has appeared/performed on NBC 17, WITN-7, WRAL5, GMWA (Gospel Music Workshop of America), Rhythm of Gospel Awards, NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants), etc....... Demetrice has drum on several live recordings, many albums with credits to his name. Writing, composing music as well as collaborating with other musicians, producers; Demetrice goal is to record/release great music and big hits to share with the world. To someday have Grammy Award winning songs! Demetrice Everett, the mind of a producer and with great abilities is in the run to become one of the greatest drummers out of the eastern part of North Carolina.
