Daishia O’Loughlin was born August 19, 1992 in Lafayette, Indiana to Michael and Fialishia O’Loughlin. She moved to Central Florida around the age of 3 and grew up around Central Florida ever since. She discovered her talents at an early age and set her goals very early as well. During these years, she realized her talent of drawing, and developed a great interest in singing. She began singing in her church choir at age 7 and from then on she was always either singing in the choir or dancing on her church’s praise dance team. At the age of 10 she began writing songs and poetry, and developed a great interest in fashion design and piano at the age of 12. She invented her first song, “You Reap What You Sow,” on the piano at her home and performed for her school talent show, singing and playing the piano and making it to the final round of the competition, featuring the top ten performers. She sang at a nursing home with a youth group at her middle school called, “Girl Talk,” where she met her best friend, Helen, who aspired to be a recording artist and proved herself to be the best singer in the school, winning the same competition Daishia competed in. As the years progressed, Daishia continued singing at her church choir, dancing on her praise dance team, inventing music on the piano by ear, and writing songs and poetry. She and her mother would sing at Guardian Care Nursing Center with her church’s Outreach Ministries, and together they performed in a skit at church where they sang as a duet a song, “Because He Lives.” Daishia is an independent recording artist who sings and writes songs ranging for jazz, R&B, to pop and gospel. Her influences are Alicia Keys, Destiny’s Child, Kanye West, Beyonce, and India Arie. Her goal is to inspire people across the globe to pursue their dreams and to never give them up. Her songs are dedicated to the empowerment of women and teaching them love themselves while relating to normal situations that women face with life.
Daishia O'Loughlin attended the University of South Florida from 2010 to present. She decided to take charge of her career goals and becom an independent recording artist at age 18. She later enlisted in the Army National Guard at age 19 in March 2012. After completing Basic Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina and AIT at Fort Lee, Virginia, she began her part time vocation as a Logistic Specialist in the Army National Guard.
