Calico, an up and coming artist from the Englewood community on Chicago’s south side, has been in love with music since the age of 13. Influenced by the beats, rhymes, and melodies of gospel, neo-soul, jazz, and specifically hip-hop, Calico has developed his own style he calls “Ghetto Gospel”. His “Ghetto Gospel” style is also a reflection of his personality and experiences as a man of the people, straight forward, and willing to stand up for his beliefs. Firmly rooted in his faith in Jesus Christ, Calico believes that we need to “keep pushing, praying until something happens” and aspires to use his artistry to spread this message to “those who love to hear music and not just listen”.
