In late 2010 the progressive acoustic rock act Contra-Punctus went on a hiatus sprouting from a series of drunken disputes and hospitalizations. Jason and Aaron went their separate ways. Jason, seeking to continue his musical journey in a more textured and jarring way, found succor in Mike's relentless drumming.
A few months later, after attempting to become a performance artist using only beef jerky and a prosthetic limb, Aaron realized that playing bass was his true calling after all. With his several debilitating, anti-social mental disorders Aaron found himself unable to communicate musically with any other musicians.
Thus, a truce was proffered and begrudgingly accepted. The Edifice Complex was born.
In October of 2012 The Edifice Complex released their first album Gluttony & Scarcity. The album was recorded in the summer of 2012 by Aaron Graham (The Oxford Farm Report, Fifth on the Floor, Ford Theatre Reunion) at Wartime Studios.
