Sean Coleman is a very prolific singer,songwriter, guitarist, bass player, and drummer. He has been active in the local Boston rock music scene since the nineties. Born in Cambridge and raised in Billerica, Massachusetts, Sean has written and recorded hundreds of songs over the years which have yielded several independently produced albums, where he performs not only vocals, but all instruments, as well.
In September of 2010, he formed The Sean Coleman Band with Hank Rowe on bass, Dean Thompson on guitar, and Scott Perkins on the drums. They have performed at the Hard Rock Cafe in Boston, MA and have opened for rock legends like Pat Travers.
Sean is also lead singer and guitarist for the very popular Revere, MA-based cover band, Thats That and performs solo and duo acoustic shows all around the Boston area. Other projects for Sean include lead vocals and guitar for the Sean Coleman Trio, a rock cover trio. Sean joined the long standing and very popular Boston cover band, The Slushpuppies in 2013 on vocals and guitar.
Sean's musical influences range from the British invasion (most notably the Beatles), hard rock, progressive, metal, blues, fusion, hip-hop and pop. He has a deep appreciation for the early to modern jazz greats, classical and country. His style is sometimes synthesis of all of the above, which has made Sean Coleman a very versatile musician.
The lyrics from his original songs are deep and insightful and the melodies carry complexities that showcase his artistic talents and creativity. Whether Sean is belting out Led Zeppelin, one of today's latest hits or one of his many originals on stage, his performances are mesmerizing.
