Flannel Church puts the bare bones of rock, soul, and rhythm & blues on display with an earthy, muscular groove steeped in the tradition of Southern roots music. Born from an infectious pulse drummer Duane Trucks and bassist Kevin Scott discovered in 2011 during an open jam in Atlanta, the quartet initially came together under the watchful eye of the legendary Col. Bruce Hampton and has since evolved into an organic live force, driven by the gospel-like power of vocalist and storyteller Marshall Ruffin and the scorching guitar riffs of Lawson Feltman. From swampy late nights on Frenchmen Street to blazing hot shuffles on the Carolina coast, Flannel Church leaves an indelible mark on listeners, ushering in a new generation of American roots music.
