Morgan Wick began playing Guitar at the age of 12. In 2010, he graduated from the University of Idaho with a Bachelor’s degree in Classical Guitar Performance. In his time there he studied under Professor James Reid, as well as working heavily with Vern Sielert, Professor of Jazz Studies, and Daniel Bukvich, Professor of Percussion and Composition. Having performed in a variety of ensembles and bands ranging from Rock, Metal, Blues, Funk, Fusion, Small Combo and Big Band Jazz, Classical Guitar ensembles, Jazz choirs, and concert choirs, Morgan has a diverse number of styles at his disposal. Morgan’s most notable influences are Progressive Rock and Metal bands such as Dream Theater, Porcupine Tree and Rush as well as Modern Jazz Fusion and Guitar instrumental music. Primarily an Electric Guitarist, Morgan is known for his technical proficiency on the instrument and his ability to combine his technique with the soulfulness of Blues and Jazz, and the sophistication of Classical music. As well as performing with dozens of ensembles across the Northwest, Morgan is also an aspiring composer having written dozens of compositions for Rock Bands, Jazz combos, Choirs, and Strings. Morgan has been playing guitar for 12 years.
