Peter J (Richardson) is a Trinidad- born, Canadian who resides in Burnaby,BC. His musical leanings started at 11 when he learned how to play a few chords on the Ukelele.At 13 he progressed to the guitar and wrote his first song at 16 yrs. of age. While attending Ottawa University, he played with a number of Carribean bands with music ranging from Soca to Reggae, R&B and even Meringue.Family responsibilities took him away from the band scene for a few years but his songwriting continued, culminating in his debut CD: 'Tequila Shots' in March 2010. It was introduced in both the Trinidad and Vancouver,BC markets. While in Trinidad to promote the CD, he was interviewed on CN3 TV with Paolo Kernahan, He was also featured in the weekend edition of the Trinidad Guardian and received airplay on FM 104.7.On his return to Vancouver, he was interviewed by the Foremost radio personality in the Caribbean community: Mr Wayne Vernon of FM 96.1 and received regular airplay on the channel. Peter J received the 'Best Independent Soca Artist" Award at the West Coast Reggae And Carribean Music Awards event in MArch 2011. His two new singles, Come Be My Baby Girl and My Sunshine are part of the new CD to be released by Spring 2012. His songwriting, &Vocal craft have progressed significantly in the last year as will be evident with the new CD release.
