Lamar Robinson, aka ( Jdot The Beast) is a Maryland native by way of Los Angles, California. His mother a hustler born and raised in Michigan gave him the street knowledge which heavily influences his music. His father also a Michigan native but moved to Cali to further his career in the medical field. When asked about his up bringing and dealing with the separation of his parents, and living on different sides of the track, Jdot replied by saying "there is not a significant difference between the two, I learned how to balance the street mentality that my mother embedded in me with the higher learning I acquired from my father.
Jdots love for hip hop began when he was 7 and developed his skills at 14. Performing at school talent shows and lunchtime cyphers, he demanded the attention of his peers. Since high school he has performed in countless shows and has opened up for some of the industries best. His resume includes Trillville, Icewear Vezzo, Kevin Gates, Starlitto, Too Short, Lil Scappy, YoungBloods, Young Buck, Digital Underground, Jody Breeze, Gorilla Zoe, Twista, and the list continues. He has been featured on several mix-tapes and LP's, one which landed on Billboards Top 100 list(The Unknown, produced by TP of Off Top Records). He has traveled through out Michigan and surrounding areas such as Grand Rapids, Detroit, Atlanta, Memphis, and several others states to build his fan base.
Jdot dropped his first mix-tape, Compliment of JC in the spring of 2012. The cd has 10 tracks that will appeal to anyone who loves hip hop, ranging from 9 to 9( a hustlers anthem) to Fly High(a dedication to his wife).
His second Mixtape "Cold Turkey" dropped on May 30th 2014 and has been street certified as a classic. With 20 tracks and a handful of local artist, this compilation presents a pleather of talent. His EP L.O.T.S (Lord Open the Sky) which features producers from across the globe from UK's (Coatse Beats) and Michigan's' own (Young Heat) packs a diverse assortment of songs which displays the artists true passion for hip hop. Jdot the Beast has the potential to be a top seller in the rap game, and clothing as he is working on his brand Garbage Can Hustler and clothing line 49203.
Established in March of 2012, the 49203 clothing line is based on an urban lifestyle. The vision of 49203 is to inspire urban youth to reach for the stars, and incorporate God in their lives. In a time where role models are few and escape routes are slim to none, 49203 provides motivation for growth.
Garbage Can Hustler provides a retail service for the urban community that includes high quality apparel (shirts, hats, hoodies)and music.
