InCries is a Malaysian metal band from Keramat Durjana, Kuala Lumpur, formed in early 2010. Since the band’s inception, they have released one single “Odd of Eternity” in 2013.
InCries was founded in 2010 by Hafiz Bukhari (Apit) and Khairi Suarman (Kadok) as a side project from their then-current metalcore band, Black Territory. That same year, they recruited Kamarulizam Wahap (Ijam) on vocals, Hisyam Nadzir (Bob) on bass guitar and Nizam (Short) on guitar to form the first official InCries line-up. In 2011, Apit and Kadok decided to quit Black Territory due to musical differences and began focusing more on InCries.
End of 2010, Short was replaced by Nazeem (Caladrius) due to more focus on his original band. In the same year, InCries entered the band contest ROTTW Soundstage and got fourth place overall. After the competition, Nazeem and Bob left the band and were replaced by Shadiq (Caladrius) on Guitars and Shafri (Ballad For Layla) on Bass Guitar. In that year until 2012 with the new line-up, they have been performing around Kuala Lumpur and a few times as an opening acts for international bands such as BANE and No Turning Back. In several performances, they also invited Fitri Hassan (Fit) as a singer together with Ijam.
In 2013, InCries wrote, recorded, and self-produced their debut single, “Odd of Eternity”, in Studio SennDart except drum track was recorded in Studio Robin.
InCries musical style is characterized by the constant use of harmonized lead guitar melodies and screaming-style singing along with death growl. InCries’ vocal style is characterized by the use of growled vocals or screamed vocals complemented at times by clean vocals. InCries’ lyrics focus more on personal issues, thoughts, and other global themes.
InCries prefer the Gothenburg Sounds as their reference on musical style. InCries biggest influence is Metallica, InFlames, Dimension Zero, Soilwork and At The Gates.
Now, they are in the process of composing songs to fit into their new album that will be release later this year.
