Originally from Central Ohio, Jim's songwriting has been described as feel good, from the heart "story strong". He has written and performed since Northeastern High School (Go Jets!) and college days at Ohio University at Athens where he earned his BBA in Finance.
In 2015, Jim and co-writer, Terry B. Smith, co-founded SongRiders "Live" in Conway, AR to bring seasoned vets, newer artists and professional singer/songwriters together with local music fans for private, up-close and personal music events. SongRiders "Live" provides an intimate, "live" listening experience for local music fans and a personal, "supportive" experience for featured songwriters and recording artists.
Jim's music has been picked up for film/tv music licensing catalogs and in 2014 his song "Bury Me With My Boots On" (written with Terry B. Smith and Sandy Ramos) was picked up by Australian Country artist, Travis Collins for his album project "Wired", which is set for release in mid-February, 2015.
Jim writes his own material and with co-writers in Nashville, Austin, Central Arkansas and California. He's involved in writer's nights, showcases, workshops and conferences, is a BMI songwriter and active member of the Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI), Central Arkansas chapter.
