Make Friends with The Enemies
The Enemies are a five piece band from Drogheda, a large town near Dublin in Ireland. Formed in 2003, lead singer Ronan McQuillan and guitarist Colin O’Donoghue, adopted the name ‘The Enemies’, because of their previous history playing in rival bands in their teens. Starting out with a covers acoustic set, the band gradually grew their repertoire and band members, bringing in Martin Sheils on bass and Mark Montague on drums.
In 2010 Colin O’Donoghue filmed the US box office number one movie, The Rite, starring alongside Anthony Hopkins. It was his success and the addition of Johnny Crean on guitar, which prompted the band to finally record their own material.
Their first EP highlights the strong writing talents of Ronan McQuillan and Johnny Crean, influenced by other artists such as John Mayer, Steely Dan and even The Beatles. The Enemies are currently working on their debut album and have been hired by car giant Chevrolet and international brand Coca-Cola for their advertising campaigns.
A well established and prolific songwriter from Drogheda, Co. Louth, Johnny brings a diverse range of musical talent to The Enemies, playing lead guitar, saxophone and piano. As well as his vocal ability, he offers a large catalogue of original material, always known to get the party started.
As an A list actor (see www.colinodonoghue.com) Colin has been busy publicising the band while promoting his US box office number one movie ’The Rite’. Colin and The Enemies performed at the wrap party for the film in Budapest and at the European Premiere in Dublin. As a founding member of the band Colin plays guitar, mandolin, piano, harmonica and accompanies on vocals.
Also a founding member, Ronan is lead singer and plays rhythm guitar. Charming and personable, his unique voice and natural crowd ability have gathered fans all over the world. Performing from an early age and writing since his teens, he and Johnny form a strong song writing partnership.

Monty has spent years honing his trade, drumming with bands covering genres such as rock, soul and funk. As a drummer with the Carrickmacross Brass Brand, he has travelled all over the world, and played in Madison Square Gardens in 2000. Monty also accompanies on vocals.
An exceptional bass player, Martin brings the funk elements to The Enemies. Starting as the original drummer for the band, Martin later moved to bass. He also plays piano, guitar and banjo and accompanies on vocals.
