Hey! Welcome to Island Grown Productions. I'm Luke McQuillin
For those of you who visit this site you'll never know when new stuff will appear, like those new videos of Jennifer Sutherland singing.
Check 'em out. the stuff I'm posting is a copilation of many players and bands... some great; some okay; all of them from the heart. There are also recordings of musical groups that I have recorded over the years. I just posted one tonight (3/13/14).
I was awarded the 2010 Song of the Year award
[The Song of the Year songwriting contest has awarded M J Mcquillin & Lukenfranz the Collective Works placement in the song contest. The "Collective Works" placement is awarded to songwriters who display consistency in songwriting excellence across various works. Song of the Year receives entries from all over the world and only the top songwriters receive a Collective Works placement in the songwriting competition.]
pretty cool, eh?
The songs on this page reflect a collection of tunes over the years of playing with a lot of great players. These generally are the ones we moved on from, so we consider them out takes.
Welcome to our "Work in Progress" page-of-ideas for Luke McQuillin & Friends (Lukenfranz). On the next page, you can listen to a compilation of ideas that are being worked on (or have been worked on) with a number of Vashon artists. They're mostly out-takes. Sort of the stuff that gets one to the end product. And they're labeled 4 basic ways:
1) Scratch-studio tapes of artists ideas on paper;
2) First cut -more formalized version; still developing the idea; usually not all tracks are recorded yet;
3) Live-just that, and;
4) Sorta final-usually is as far as it went as we probably got bored or our A.D.D. kicked in.
**We're also posting tunes that are in various stages for other musicians we're working with. They'll usually be identified as a working draft or demo. There'll usually be some part of a scratch instructional vocal on it too. Feel free to take a listen
If you'd like to comment on any of them, such as have suggestions as to what you think might be cool sounding, just email us. We'd be glad to hear your comments
And thanks for visiting the site.... hey, who knows, you might even enjoy some of the stuff...
