A few tidbits of trivia about the members who form Collected Souls:
Dwight Stroh - Rhythm/Lead Guitar, Lead Vocals
Once a very shy and mild mannered farm boy from North Dakota, Dwight (aka D-wiz, Dwizzle) finally came into his own through the many years of playing music in various cover bands around the Portland area. Worked a short time with singer/songwriter Chris Merrill - placing 2nd in Seattle's Bumbershoot in 2007. Dwight has also performed as CC DeVille with Poison'us - Portland's tribute to Poison, also as lead guitarist of the Renegade Monks, Portland/Vancouver's most versatile cover band, as well as filling the shoes of Brad Whitford in the new Aerosmith tribute Band Sweet Emotion. As time allows, Dwizzle will be focusing on recording his original music and developing an acoustic duo with River Wylde of Hot Flash Express.
The Collected Souls band is the brain child of Dwight's who has followed Collective Soul since the beginning.
Hobbies include touring the countryside on his motorcycle, amusement parks, karaoke, handing out beads for the right enticement and refusing to ever grow up.
Darin Rose - Bass and Vocals
Official Chef de Jour' wanna be - Cradle robbing - dim witted half pint who hasn't sent in his bio information yet (we're hoping this will give him a push in the right direction...) Oh! And he's the bass player too... ;-)
Jonas Greene - Lead/Rhythm Guitar and Vocals
Growing up in the eclectic mid-nineties Portland music scene was an inspiring and formative experience for Jonas. Shows at the X-Ray Café, Pine Street Theater, and Satyricon featured very different bands that were often all on the same bill. He fully embraced the 90s ethos of appreciating and fusing together different styles of music. At 19 he co-founded his own band, Bent, fueled by punk, funk, blues, but above all else, rock. Since then he’s lent his guitar playing, voice, and writing ability to a number of respected Portland bands including Tea, The Strand, Sweetride, and Vanderbuilte. His lead guitar playing for Vanderbuilte was showcased in a campaign for Nationwide Insurance. He has also composed original music for several independent film projects.
A cover band has always been something that Jonas wanted to do, especially after his current original band, Lost Nation Speedway, recently got the chance to work up a set of covers for a special event. After seeing an ad placed by Dwight Stroh for a band citing a fresh approach to the cover scene and the priority of getting people to dance, he was in. All was solidified when the members detected a definite musical chemistry after a few rehearsals
