Allan Chapman / Bio

Born and raised in the NY metropolitan area, Allan Chapman has spent most of his life creating - singing, playing, performing, writing and recording in local clubs, cafes and festivals. After spending most of his time as a contributing artist in various bands, Allan has now decided to break out on his own, singlehandedly writing, recording & producing 3 full length albums in a span of 3 years - All We Are, Mountain & the long-awaited PJ's Fantasy, available 6.21.11. He is now working with a variety of great musicians, as well as performing solo acoustic gigs and gearing up to bring some soul-infused rock & groove to a theatre near you! Stay tuned for more details!

Practicing activism and veganism, Allan's songs are brimming with passion, honesty and empowerment, singing about things that matter most to him - his relationship to himself, others, community and the world. "By understanding my own journey in this life and my relationship to the planet, I can write and sing about topics which ring true to me and are part of my daily life. In this way, I contribute to the greater good, honestly, organically, one chord, one word, one action at a time, which is all important to me."

All these components are then brought together to create a uniquely-melded fusion, resulting in powerful records and electric performances. As one reviewer wrote: “...his songs are passionate, thought-provoking and compelling, rivaled only by his unique ability to take covers and make them his own. His live performance is powerful with his distinct sound, fusing a robust vibrato (along with some great accompanist musicians) and rhythmic guitar stylings which practically force the audience to get up and dance.”
