Soulful, Spiritual and Powerful, these are just a few words that describe the Music Ministry of Miko Reed. Being a woman of African-American and Japanese descent, Miko epitomizes the diversity of her Southern California roots and that diversity flows into her music as well. Drawing on influences from Gospel, R&B, Hip-Hop and Jazz, Miko’s powerful yet soulful voice takes her audience on a journey that always leaves them longing for more.
Saying that music is in Miko’s blood is an understatement, Miko holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Cal State University, San Marcos and comes from a family of performers. Miko’s aunts Madeline and Carolyn as well as her uncle Pastor Timothy Riley were a part of the West Coast Gospel Choir and have been featured regularly on B.E.T.’s “The Love Connection” broadcast show. Miko has performed in the gospel groups “Remnants” and “Eternity”, done shows at countless venues throughout Southern California including performances on KPRZ Radio, Comcast Cable and most recently as a back-up singer to Grammy and Dove Award winning singer Rebecca St. James.
Miko’s passion for performing is second only to her heart for God. When not performing or writing, Miko is currently the Praise and Worship Leader at Kingdom Builders Bible Fellowship in Vista, CA, where she uses her talents in service to God’s Kingdom.
