The Krippled Dogz are a 3 piece rock band writing and performing original songs. Many of them are about military life and military families based upon their extensive (over 30 years) experiences and those of family and friends who have served our country. The band has been in existence since 2010. Gus Mancuso, one of the band's founding members, plays bass and is the band's manager. Jimmy Youngblood joined the band as vocalist in mid-2010 and has written most of the lyrics and vocal melodies. He is also the band's drummer. Jason Mancuso joined the band after he returned from overseas in November 2011 upon completion of his service in the Air Force. He is the band's guitar player and does most of the arrangements.
The band has been described as having a unique hard rock/classic metal sound, variously described as like Black Sabbath, or Van Halen, or even Pearl Jam. The songs all have lyrics that are cleanly sung, and the riffs are melodic. The music deals with difficult topics, but without profanity. Nothing pleases the guys more than the teary eyes and handshakes from the Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan vets in the audience. Combat arms guys love the music, all vets "get it" and the families are the biggest fans. If you like rock, hard rock and classic metal, you'll like the Krippled Dogz!
They have performed for numerous veterans' and other charitable organization benefits in the greater Houston Area. Among them was their most recent performance for O.Z. Productions at the Metal Fist Steel Wheel Festival at the Pasadena Rodeo Grounds in July 2013. Another performance was a 4th of July celebration at the Richmond State Supported Living Facility performed on 6 July for the residents and staff. They also supported the 5th Annual Houston Liberty Festival Benefiting Homes For Our Troops in January 2012 at George Bush Park.
They have also performed for various rock clubs on the northwest side of Houston like the BFE Rock Club the Acadia Bar & Grill, and other local venues.
The band is currently focused on finishing the concept album, "Judgment Day". They are also busy producing promotional videos and rehearsing a high quality performance to promote the album. The band is willing to perform, but until the album is completed, their recording schedule will limit the number of shows they are able book.
