Straight out of Morrow county Ohio. We all come from very small towns. Grit N Steel was formed in the summer of 2011. With all 4 members having different approaches in today’s music world, it has allowed us to create a sound that can be heard by a variety of music lovers.Different musical influences in one band is sure to strike up a sound that traces back over two decades. Songs comes from the heart with a story to be told. A combination of raw energy and lyrical style that takes you on a journey. Writing our album seemed to come very natural for us. Bass player Ian ware always has a lot to talk about. Writing lyrics to over half of our songs on our album. Ian shares many life experiences that many can relate to. Singer Joel Meyers having a wife deployed overseas for the US Army has opened his eyes to create songs of memory and regrets. You take life for granted every day you wake up. Then the love of your life is called to duty. You begin to pour your heart out on paper and realize the things you should have said or done. Guitarist Paul Sayre is no stranger to great sounds. With musical influences like Zakk Wylde you can relive the past in the song RockStar. Paul wrote the lyrics for this song to pay tribute to Ozzy Osbourne. Drummer Jason Spider Webb is the quiet guy in the band that keeps Grit N Steel on their toes. He is the most passionate person we know when it comes to music. If it doesn’t sound right Jason picks up on it right away. Jason has a story to be told and you can hear it when he picks up his sticks to create the beats on our album. If music was only a dream we are living it right now!
